Amy graduated from Sterling Health Center in Dallas, TX in 2002 and has been practicing massage in many different capacities ever since. Over the years, Amy has been trained in Reflexology, Prenatal/Postpartum/L&D Massage, Infant/Toddler/ Adolescent Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Geriatric Massage, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Aromatherapy, Shiatsu, Lomi Lomi, Oncology Massage (People Living with Cancer) and received her Massage Therapy Instructor License.
Her journey into Oncology Massage started in 2008 because her younger sister was diagnosed with Stage III Melanoma while pregnant. Amy knew there was a way to help her sister throughout the process in having cancer but the resources were limited for education. She sought out the education of Manual Lymphatic Drainage, through research, found it was the best modality to help people living with cancer at that time. Since then she has had the opportunity to help many more clients with lymphatic dysfunctions from lifestyle to effects from surgery and cancer.
Her sister further pushed Amy’s passion for helping when she was diagnosed in July 2015 with Stage IV Melanoma. Due to the severity of this newer diagnosis Amy’s education did seem adequate enough so in January 2017 she had the amazing opportunity to attend Gayle MacDonald’s class, People Living With Cancer. It has been a desire of her heart to help others throughout their journey. She currently is working out of a Chiropractic office in Lewisville, and also has the ability to massage clients in their homes.
Amy Scottino is a member of the Society for Oncology Massage, American Bodywork and Massage Professionals, and hold a license for Massage Therapy Instructor.
