Cindy graduated from the Massage Institute and Center for the Healing Arts in 1999 with the sole intention of providing safe, supportive touch for people with cancer. She trained with Gayle MacDonald, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering. A pancreatic cancer survivor since 2005, Cindy believes in the pursuit of optimal wellness at all phases of the cancer journey – from the moment of diagnosis, through treatment, long-term survival, and at the end of life. She currently works at the T. Boone Pickens Hospice Inpatient Unit and maintains a private practice devoted to palliative support for patients with late-stage disease. Clients who are too ill to travel are seen by Cindy in the home setting where her focus is comfort, relief of distress, and support for the client’s goals as they evolve over time. With Susan Gee, Cindy teaches a 20-hour nationally certified CE class titled Final Touch Training: Clinical Skills for End-of-Life Massage.
