I am licensed as a massage therapist in Texas and trained at the Texas Healing Arts Institute. My practice is in Austin, Texas.
I have received extensive training through the Upledger, Chikly, Barral and D’Ambrosio Institutes in the fields of craniosacral therapy (advanced practitioner level), osteopathic movement therapy, brain therapy, visceral and neural manual therapy as well as manual lymphatic drainage. I have also served as a volunteer massage therapist with Hospice Austin since 2007 following my social work internship there in the early 1990’s while studying for my Masters in Social Work degree at UT Austin. In the past, I have worked as a licensed master social worker and as a pastor.
I joined the Oncology Massage Alliance in 2014 after attending training at MD Anderson in Houston and completing Tracy Walton’s Oncology Massage Therapy: Caring for Clients with Cancer workshop. I am also trained in trauma release therapy. I find that my practice of massage therapy integrates the physical-emotional-spiritual aspects both within myself as well as my clients through compassionate touch. I am married and have three adult children and five grandchildren. I enjoy hiking, reading, photography and baking a great cheesecake.
I am currently maintaining my massage practice during the COVID pandemic in north Austin using protective measures for both myself and my clients.
