Sarah graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1994 with a degree in English Literature, and then went on to study Midwifery at the University of Brighton in England, where she worked for the National Health Service as a midwife for ten years. Following her return to the US, she worked in maternity education and administrative work in the hospital setting. Seeking a career change, she went back to what she loved most about being a midwife—caring for people in times of stress and helping them achieve mind and body integration. This led her to the Ashland Institute of Massage where she completed their 650-hour massage training course.
Since becoming a licensed massage therapist in the state of Oregon, she has completed Gayle McDonald’s Massage for People Living with Cancer class, and will complete the Klose Training Lymphedema Certification in December 2017. She works at the Rogue Valley Manor, with a practice focusing on the resident elderly population there, and also has a private practice in Ashland, where she sees clients with a variety of health and relaxation goals. She is a member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) and Oncology Massage Alliance.
