
Wendy graduated from the Third Coast Center for the Healing Arts in Austin, Texas in 1994, and received her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Communication Arts from the San Francisco State University in 1983.
She graduated from the Aveda Institute in Austin in 2010, where she received her certification in esthiology. She is also a Certified Lymphedema Therapist, and has received additional training in Lymphatic Drainage from the Chikly Institute of Lymphatic Drainage; Craniosacral Therapy from the Upledger Institute; Oncology Massage Therapy from the Oncology Massage Education Associates; La Stone Therapy in Tucson, Arizona; Oncology Massage at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas; and a Tuina Massage workshop in Beijing, China. In 2002, she attended the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah as part of the Sports Massage Team.
She has been a volunteer on the Teams Committee with the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure for the past seven years and at Texas Oncology Midtown since 2009. She also worked at the Texas Hospital Association, where she was responsible for publications, health care career recruiting at the junior high through high school level throughout the state of Texas; and assisted with planning their annual convention and exhibit show.
